It Started with a Memory

Years ago, my grandfather kept a collection of handmade wooden figurines in his home. Each one standing about three feet tall, each with its own character and presence. They weren't decorations. They were personalities. Carved by hand, shaped with intention, imbued with a warmth that no factory-made object could replicate.

Those figurines are gone now, but the feeling they left behind isn't. That quiet sense of wonder when you encounter something made with real care, something you want to reach out and touch, something that makes a room feel more alive.

Luxnwood was founded to chase that feeling.

 

What We Believe

We believe your home deserves more than mass-produced objects that look the same as everyone else's. Every Luxnwood piece, from our hand-shaped acacia salad bowls to our precision-cut birch plywood world maps to our solid oak wall hooks, is chosen because it carries something of the hands that made it.

Wood is our medium because nothing else comes close. It's warm where metal is cold. It's unique where plastic is uniform. It ages with grace, tells a story through its grain, and connects us to the natural world in ways we don't always notice but always feel.

 

Our Materials

We work with three primary timber families, each selected for its character and sustainability:

Acacia — Rich, honey-toned, and remarkably durable. Acacia is a fast-growing hardwood that thrives without heavy irrigation or pesticides, making it one of the most sustainable options available. You'll find it in our bowls, serving sets, kitchen accessories, and cheese boards.

Oak — Dense, strong, and timeless. Our solid oak wall hooks are finished by hand and built to last for decades. Oak's tight grain and warm undertones give even the smallest piece a sense of permanence and quality.

Birch Plywood — Light, precise, and beautifully workable. Our world maps are cut from sustainably sourced birch plywood, chosen for its clean grain and structural stability at large scales. Each map is finished to highlight the natural wood character.

 

Craftsmanship & Our Artisan Partners

Every Luxnwood product is the result of skilled hands and deliberate choices. We collaborate with artisan workshops around the world, curating pieces that meet our standards for materials, finish, and design integrity.

We're currently expanding to work directly with individual artisans, building closer relationships with the makers behind the craft. This means greater transparency in how our products are made, tighter quality standards, and a more genuine connection between the people who shape the wood and the people who bring it into their homes.

This is the direction Luxnwood is growing toward: not just selling beautiful products, but building a network of craftspeople who share our values.

 

Sustainability, by Design

Sustainability is embedded in how we choose materials, partners, and products.

Our timber is sourced from responsibly managed forests and fast-growing species that replenish naturally. Our products are designed to last years, not months, reducing the cycle of disposal and replacement that defines so much of modern retail. And we're continuously evaluating our packaging, shipping, and sourcing to minimize our footprint.

We don't claim to be perfect. But we're committed to making choices that respect the materials we work with and the world they come from.
